Bright Pink and Gray Card

It's been a while since I joined challenges, but I just couldn't pass up this challenge from Less Is More and Simon Says Stamp.

The Less Is More blog is celebrating its 4th anniversary, and the challenge this week is to make a card with pink and gray.

Meanwhile, the challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog is "All things bright and beautiful," highlighting Hero Arts products.

I am excited for this challenge, because I have a lot of Hero Arts stamps.  They were one of the first stamps I bought when I first started stamping five years ago.

Here is my card:

I used this Hero Arts stamp set for the different splashes of pink.

The image and the sentiment came from two different stamp sets.  The bicycle was from this set.

The sentiment was from this set.  I love how the two stamps complemented each other perfectly.  I embossed both the bicycle and the sentiment using silver/gray embossing powder.

I love how this card turned out.  I am working on having a stash of handmade cards that I can readily pull out for different occasions, and this card definitely fits the bill.

Here is a complete list of products (and links to where you can find them):
White cardstock (Georgia Pacific)
Dark and light gray cardstock (my stash)
Brush Strokes (Hero Arts)
Joy Ride stamp set (Hero Arts)
Friendship Messages stamp set (Hero Arts)
Rose Bud ink (Memento)
Angel Pink ink (Memento)
Pixie Dust ink (Versamagic)
Pink Petunia ink (Versamagic)
Versamark ink pad (Tsukineko)
Heat gun (Nicole)
Embossing powder (Stampin' Up!)
Embossing powder tool (Inkadinkado)
ATG gun (Scotch)

Thanks for looking, and have a bright and cheery day!

Sympathy Card

Like I've said before, I feel very sad whenever I need to make a sympathy card. :(

My co-worker's mother passed away, and since I could not go to the viewing, I'm sending her a card to let her know that she's in my thoughts and in prayers.

It's a very simple card, in white cardstock and Old Olive card base:

I stamped the images and the sentiment in Versamark, and embossed with black embossing powder.  The flower images are from Stampendous.  The sentiment is from Pink by Design.

Here is the inside of the card, stamped with a sentiment from Stampin' Up:

Thanks for looking.

With Sympathy (SCS 409)

Several weeks ago, when I decided to return to blogging and paper-crafting, I decided that I will try to be more active in card-making by joining challenges.

I picked the SCS Card Sketch challenge, and I used this sketch (SCS 409):

This is my take on the sketch:

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a colleague who lost his parent.  I hope I'll need fewer of this card in the future.

The card was made with Very Vanilla cardstock (101650) base, layered with a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock (120953), layered with Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon (126847).  I used the Love and Sympathy stamp set (Wood:  122795; Clear:  122797) for the image, inked using Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' pad (126975).  The sentiment "With Sympathy" was from the Loving Thoughts stamp set (Wood:  125843; Clear:  125845) using Midnight Muse Classic Stampin' pad (126860).

All these products are available for purchase at my Stampin' Up! store.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
