Mojo Monday 298 - Baby Shower Card

I'm attending my cousin's wife's baby shower (my cousin-in-law?) on Saturday, and while I do have her gift ready to be wrapped, I did not have a card made.  Yet.

I was drawing a blank in terms of inspiration, so I looked at the Mojo Monday sketch for this week:

Julee's sketch did not disappoint!  As soon as I saw the sketch, my mind started thinking of a perfect card for my cousin's wife.  Here is what I came up with:

Here is a photo of the stamped image, up close:

I kept the inside of the card plain, but I did stamp the corresponding sentiment from One in A Million in Tempting Turquoise.

I used the following products for my card:
Stampin' Up:  One in A Million stamp set, card stock (Pool Party, Whisper White, Soft Suede, and DSP), inks (Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede); Chevron embossing folder, Big Shot, Stampamajig
Non-Stampin' Up:  Footprint stamp

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Mojo Monday 277 Thank You Card

Wow -- two posts in one day!
I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I may not have time to link my card to the Mojo Monday site if I waited, so while I am still in front of my computer -- here you go.

This is my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

This is a card I made for my friend, Courtney, who had helped me find a daycare center for my 7-month old son.  I will send it to her with a big chocolate bar.  I hope she likes it.

Earlier in the year, my mom planned to come back after a few weeks to help my husband and I with our baby.  However, because our baby is growing up and has gotten very active, we needed to find another arrangement for him.  Courtney had been very kind about giving me advice and insight on what to look for in a daycare, and even took the time to recommend some daycare centers to us.  We ended up enrolling him in one of the centers she recommended, and although we had a rough start, he loves his teachers and had made new friends there already!  We couldn't be happier.

This is why my blogging is few and far between -- because getting my son ready in the morning, and picking him up, and getting me ready for work is a full-time job!

I hope to be able to blog more, or at least create more, and share what I make with all of you.

I used these Stampin' Up! products for my card:
Basic Gray card stock (121044)
Whisper White card stock (100730)
Twitterpated designer series paper (125406)
Summer Solstice stamp set (Wood:  122024; Clear:  122037)
Blooming with Kindness stamp set (Wood:  126420; Clear:  126422)
Basic Gray Classic ink pad (126981)
Blushing Bride Classic ink pad (now retired)
3/16 Subtles brads in Pretty in Pink (119738)
Dazzling Details (124117)
Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)
Snail adhesive (104332)

All these products are available at my Stampin' Up store.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Mojo Monday 270

I am back to playing at Mojo Monday -- and I just realized that I missed the deadline to upload my photo via their linky by 2 whole hours.  I did have my card made and ready by Friday, but I just did not get to a computer until now.

Last Friday, my mom and I took my son to his pediatrician for a well-baby visit, and he got 3 of his shots done.  I've never liked needles, and I'm scared of shots myself so it's always tough for me to take him to his doctor's appointments.  I have to tough it out each time, though, because I want to support him and be there for him.  Boy, being a mommy is not easy. :)

He napped on Friday after the doctor's, so I managed to make this card.

This is based on the sketch here:

I had gone through my stash of cards several days ago, and I realized that I was running low on everyday cards.  I love this sketch because it was perfect for the "Hello" sentiment from Lacy and Lovely (Wood:  122885; Clear:  122887), stamped in Marina Mist (126962) on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock (100730).

I used the Festival of Prints DSP (126904).  This paper stack is certainly awesome for holiday cards, but I'm happy to say that it works out well for an everyday card, too.  I placed a late order for this baby, and I wanted to be able to use the DSP long after the holidays.  I punched one edge of the DSP using the Scallop Trim border punch (118402).  It's one of my favorite punches.

I used Marina Mist cardstock (119682) for the base,  and Early Espresso cardstock (119686) for the mat.  For a nice pop of color, I made flowers using Daffodil Delight cardstock (119683), cut using the Floral Fusion Sizzlits (115969)  and the Big Shot (113439).  The flowers were held together using Early Espresso brad (3/16 Neutrals brads, 119737).  I ran a Daffodil Delight 1/4 inch Stitched Grosgrain ribbon (126872) over the DSP.

All of the products I used for this card is available for purchase at my Stampin' Up! store.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

P. S.  A new Mojo Monday sketch will be up tomorrow, and I hope I can get my card in before the linky closes next Sunday. :)

Mojo Monday 238 and An Update

Hello, everyone!

Thank you for being very patient with me.  I had been away for several weeks, because of health reasons.  I am now okay, but I'm waiting for some lab test results.  Hopefully, everything will be okay after that (fingers and toes crossed).

I am still taking it slowly, but I am very excited to get back to the swing of things.

I've missed several Mojo Mondays, and I'm planning to catch up with them soon.  In the meantime, here is my take on this week's Mojo Monday.

Mojo Monday 234

Hi, everyone!  Mojo Monday is Mojo Tuesday for me.  It seems I can never get a post up for the challenge on Monday itself...  Boo.

Here is the sketch for today's card:

Since this is the last Monday of the month, we get two sketches today -- one for a square card and one for a round/circle card.

I chose to make a square card:

I made this card because I was not feeling well after the lab tests last Friday.  The test took several hours, and I had to get blood drawn every hour.  After the first hour, I was feeling sick and nauseous...but I got through it without any major "incidents."  It helped that my husband came with me to the appointment.  I'm glad he was there, because each hour felt really looong.

My husband kept me entertained and kept my mind of things by promising to take me to several craft stores after the appointment.  He also said he will treat me to some Stampin' Up products. :D  Needless to say, I focused on that and kept thinking about the goodies I was going to get instead of focusing on my poor arms (which were really sore from the blood draw).

I used all these products from Stampin' Up:
Build a Blossom stamp set (Wood:  121923; Clear:  121994)
Word Play stamp set (Wood:  120308; Clear:  120651)
Melon Mambo classic ink pad (115656)
Concord Crush classic ink pad (119785)
Bashful Blue card stock (105120)
Pear Pizzazz card stock (119795)
Whisper White card stock (100730)
Cheerful Treat DSP (Hostess, 122381)
Blossom Petals Builder punch (121808)
1/2" Circle punch (119869)
Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack (Sale-a-bration, 127279)
Snail adhesive (104332)
Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

All these products can be purchased here.  Click on "Shop Now" to start shopping!

The last few days of Sale-a-bration are here.  The good news is, there are still 4 days left to shop and get FREE Sale-a-bration products.  Better yet, there are still 4 days left to order the Starter Kit for $125 and get a free Designer Series Paper pack every month until December 2012!

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
