Flower Note Cards

Still in line with keeping my stash of cards well-stocked for the new year, I CASE'd these note cards from Pinterest (see the original cards here).  As soon as I saw these, I knew I wanted to re-create them.

They were so cute, and so simple, and so easy to make.  Making these 6 note cards took me around 15 minutes.

Each note card is 3 inches x 3 inches, which is the perfect size for a quick note, or for enclosing with a gift.

I purposefully left the note cards without a sentiment, so that I will have more versatility in using them.  I figured I can easily stamp and add a sentiment (to fit my needs) later on.

Mini Envelope (for 3x3 Note Card) Tutorial

Today is a week of firsts, as it turns out.  It's my first-ever tutorial! :)

This is the mini-envelope that I used with my mini note cards. promised a tutorial on this many, many months ago, and I finally got around to doing one.  I'm sorry for the lateness, and I hope you like this tutorial.

1.  Cut a piece of cardstock 6-3/4 inches long by 4-1/4 inches wide.

2.  On the long side, score at 1-3/8 inches and 4-1/2 inches (I've marked with with purple ink on the photo).

3.  On the short side, score at 1/2 inch and at 3-3/4 inches, or 1/2 inch from each end (I've marked it in purple ink on the photo).

4.  Fold along the score lines using a bone folder.

5.  Cut along the tick marks up to the 1/2 inch fold (as shown in photo).  Cut off the corner pieces (as shown in photo).

6.  You should have something that looks like this.

7.  Round off all the corners (except the one in near the longer flap -- this won't show in the finished envelope) with a 3/16" corner rounder for a finished look.

8.  This is how it looks with the corners rounded.

9.  Apply adhesive along the two sides of the bottom flap.  Fold in the two side flaps.  Fold up the bottom flap (adhesive side down).  Here is your finished envelope.  This is a perfect size for a 3x3 mini note card.

Black and White Mini Note Cards and Envelopes

So happy it's Friday!

I have a doctor's appointment today, and another one scheduled on Monday.  Today will be blood tests, then Monday's will be the routine prenatal.  I'm a little worried about the lab tests -- it's never fun to get poked and prodded...wish me luck!

In any case, I made these mini note cards and envelopes to perk me up...and even in black and white (no pop of cheerful colors), these still made me smile!

I had a lot of fun making these mini note cards.  It was a special treat to be able to use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool (comes with a stylus and 3 place markers to make easy score lines) and Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Plate (which fits over the tool to make all sorts of cool and fancy envelopes, sold separately).  If you haven't ordered your own scoring tool and plate, don't miss out!  I'm loving these babies!
